ALOKABODHI Buddhist Group

I was born and brought up in Japan. My home town is Shizuoka from where we can see beautiful Mount Fuji. We grow oranges and green tea in Shizuoka.  I came to England when I was a university student. I was studying French literature and decided to go to France to continue my study. I stopped over England on the way to France and decided to stay here! I like England. I started practicing Shingon Buddhism in my late 20s, and then moved on to Tibetan Buddhism. My family is in the Soto sect. Soto Zen school was founded by Dogen Zenji in 13th century.  After attending the Dalai Lama's teaching in Dharamsala, I really wanted to listen to Dhamma talks more. The nearest Buddhist institute from my house was Chithurst Buddhist Monastery and I started visiting there regularly since 2005.
